After a leisurely breakfast we tour Kathmandu City including a stop at Durbar Square, the center of the original town containing more than fifty intricately carved temples, palaces and monuments. Kumari Devi is located in this square and is home of the Living Goddess, who is chosen through an elaborate process when the girl is approximately three years of age. She reigns as the Goddess, worshiped by Hindus, Buddhists and the King himself until she reaches puberty; which is when another Kumari is chosen. We will also visit Swayambhunath.
In the afternoon we will visit Patan or The City of Potters on metal. A part of the old Kathmandu, it has some of the most fascinating wooden temples and streets after streets of blacksmith’s tinkering over their tools and making pots and statues.

Post breakfast, we will proceed for another day in Kathmandu exploreing!
We will start with Pashupatinath Temple which is open only for Hindu’s. We will admire it from the outside and and see the rituals next to the banks of its sacred river. We will also visit Bodhnath and Bhadgaon, or Bhaktapur, a 9th century fortified town in the Kathmandu Valley. You will view the architectural splendor of the past and watch today’s bustling activity in the town square. Highlights of your visit include the statue of Bhupendra Malla, the Pagoda-style temple of Nytapole. The remainder of the day is at leisure and you can spend it as you desire.
Consider adding a helicopter tour to view the majestic Himalayas. Supplement will apply.
